Change. Photography and Responsibility

Why change? If our current society has passed from being a disciplinary society to a performance society, then the invitation towards change would seem to respond, in the deepest way possible, precisely to the efforts that we demand of ourselves each day so that our performance is in line with the world we live in. And yet, just realising that we have moved from discipline to performance means first of all having grasped a change. Before any other consideration, then, the invitation regards how we view change itself. It is not about being afraid, or about extolling the new it brings, but rather about confronting how, in one way or another, we are part of it, how we ourselves are changing within the changes that we are called upon to live. Herein lies the real responsibility that each of us must assume towards change; and it is only through this responsibility that we can also try to remain faithful to ourselves.
